26 Atolls and 1196 coral islands make up the Maldives, a true paradise in every sense of the word.
Many of the small islands are uninhabited. Some of the islands are home to just one hotel resort - you can walk from one end of the island to the other before breakfast!
You never have to pick up a newspaper, or switch on the TV, just kick your shoes off when you arrive, and put them back on again only when it's time to leave.
With a total population in the region of 270,000, the Maldives holds the record for the lowest lying country in the world. The highest land being only approximately two meters above sea level.
The Maldives is truly a little piece of heaven on earth.
